RAL to Netto 2026: How Much Net Pay Per Month (Full Table from €15,000 to €60,000)
The first question after a job offer in Italy is almost always the same: what does this RAL actually become in my pocket each month? Your RAL (retribuzione annua lorda) is the gross yearly figure in your contract. Your netto is what’s left after INPS contributions and IRPEF, and the gap between the two is bigger than most people expect.
Below is a full RAL to netto table for 2026, from €15,000 to €60,000, with the monthly figure over 13 and 14 mensilità. Every number follows the 2026 rules, including the new cuneo fiscale. For your exact case (region, contract, family), use our calcolatore stipendio netto.
RAL to Netto Table 2026
These figures are for a full-time employee (lavoratore dipendente) on a permanent contract, with no dependants, paying the standard 9.19% INPS rate. They are before addizionali regionali and comunali, which depend on where you live (more on that below).
| RAL | Net per year | Net / month (13) | Net / month (14) | You keep |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| €15,000 | €13,165 | €1,013 | €940 | 87.8% |
| €20,000 | €17,667 | €1,359 | €1,262 | 88.3% |
| €22,000 | €18,986 | €1,460 | €1,356 | 86.3% |
| €25,000 | €20,876 | €1,606 | €1,491 | 83.5% |
| €28,000 | €22,789 | €1,753 | €1,628 | 81.4% |
| €30,000 | €24,021 | €1,848 | €1,716 | 80.1% |
| €32,000 | €25,153 | €1,935 | €1,797 | 78.6% |
| €35,000 | €26,742 | €2,057 | €1,910 | 76.4% |
| €38,000 | €28,017 | €2,155 | €2,001 | 73.7% |
| €40,000 | €28,784 | €2,214 | €2,056 | 72.0% |
| €45,000 | €30,972 | €2,382 | €2,212 | 68.8% |
| €50,000 | €33,620 | €2,586 | €2,401 | 67.2% |
| €55,000 | €36,268 | €2,790 | €2,591 | 65.9% |
| €60,000 | €38,857 | €2,989 | €2,776 | 64.8% |
The monthly figure is the yearly net divided by the number of mensilità. In practice your December payslip (with the tredicesima) and, if you have one, your June or July payslip (quattordicesima) look different, because extra months are taxed without detrazioni. See how the tredicesima is taxed for why.
13 or 14 Mensilità: Does It Change Your Pay?
No, not over the year. Your RAL is the same total either way; 14 mensilità just splits it into more, smaller payments. At €30,000 you take home €24,021 a year whether it arrives as 13 payments of about €1,848 or 14 of about €1,716. Which one you get depends on your CCNL: commercio and turismo contracts usually pay 14, many others pay 13.
When comparing job offers, always compare the RAL, not the monthly figure a recruiter quotes.
How the Netto Is Calculated: €30,000 Step by Step
Here’s exactly what happens to a €30,000 RAL in 2026.

| Step | Amount |
|---|---|
| RAL | €30,000 |
| INPS contributions (9.19%) | -€2,757 |
| Taxable income (imponibile IRPEF) | €27,243 |
| Gross IRPEF (23% up to €28,000) | €6,266 |
| Detrazione lavoro dipendente (art. 13 TUIR, incl. €65 extra) | -€2,044 |
| Cuneo fiscale detrazione | -€1,000 |
| Net IRPEF | €3,222 |
| Net pay (before addizionali) | €24,021 |
The three things that decide your netto:
- INPS contributions. Most employees pay 9.19% of gross pay. It comes off first, and it lowers the income IRPEF is calculated on.
- IRPEF brackets. In 2026: 23% up to €28,000, 33% from €28,000 to €50,000, 43% above €50,000 (Legge 199/2025 cut the middle bracket from 35% to 33%).
- Detrazioni and the cuneo fiscale. The employee detrazione is €1,955 up to €15,000 of income and shrinks to zero at €50,000, with an extra €65 between €25,000 and €35,000. On top of that, the cuneo fiscale either adds a tax-free sum (income under €20,000) or a detrazione of up to €1,000 (€20,000 to €40,000). Our cuneo fiscale guide covers it in detail.
Why Low Salaries Keep a Bigger Share
At €20,000 you keep 88.3% of your RAL. At €60,000 you keep 64.8%. Two reasons: the detrazioni are largest at low incomes and fade out as income rises, and under €20,000 of taxable income the cuneo fiscale adds a tax-free sum straight into your pay (4.8% of income between €15,000 and €20,000, worth €872 at a €20,000 RAL).

That’s also why a raise feels smaller the more you earn. Between €35,000 and €40,000 you’re losing both the employee detrazione and the cuneo fiscale detrazione as income goes up, on top of paying 33% IRPEF.
What a €1,000 Raise Is Worth in Net
| Raise | Extra net per year | Extra net / month (13) |
|---|---|---|
| €20,000 to €21,000 | €659 | €51 |
| €30,000 to €31,000 | €602 | €46 |
| €35,000 to €36,000 | €443 | €34 |
| €40,000 to €41,000 | €416 | €32 |
| €50,000 to €51,000 | €530 | €41 |

Between €32,000 and €40,000 the cuneo fiscale detrazione tapers from €1,000 to zero, so each extra euro also costs you some of that bonus. At €50,000 the cuneo fiscale taper is behind you, so a raise only faces 33% IRPEF, INPS and the last bit of the employee detrazione fading out, which is why it’s worth more than one at €40,000. Above a taxable income of €50,000 (a RAL of about €55,000) the rate jumps to 43%. If your raise isn’t showing up the way you hoped, our post on why a raise doesn’t feel like one goes deeper.
Don’t Forget the Addizionali
The table stops before the addizionale regionale and addizionale comunale, because they depend on where you live. The regional rate starts at 1.23% and some regions go above 3% on higher incomes; the municipal rate is usually up to 0.8% (Rome charges 0.9%). Both are calculated on your taxable income.
As a rough guide, if your combined addizionali come to 2%, that’s about €545 a year at a €30,000 RAL and €726 at €40,000. They’re also withheld with a delay: this year’s addizionale regionale is taken from next year’s payslips, January to November, which is why your net often drops a little in January.
Other Things That Change Your Netto
- Family. If you have a dependent spouse or other dependants, extra detrazioni apply. Children under 21 are now covered by the Assegno Unico from INPS, paid separately, not through your busta paga.
- Your contract. Apprentices pay a lower INPS rate (5.84%), so they keep more. Part-time work is the same calculation on a lower RAL.
- Fringe benefits and welfare. Buoni pasto and company welfare plans are often tax-free up to set limits, so they add value that this table doesn’t show.
- Pension fund. Contributions to a fondo pensione are deductible up to €5,164.57 a year, which lowers your taxable income.
If your actual payslip doesn’t match the table, check our guide to trattenute busta paga to see which line is different.

These figures are estimates for an employee with no dependants, standard 9.19% INPS contributions and no other income, before addizionali regionali and comunali. Real payslips also depend on your CCNL, region, municipality, family situation, fringe benefits and how your employer spreads detrazioni across the year.
